The real test of a good performer is his ability to go from one effect to another in a graceful and transparent manner. All tricks might be entirely different but there must be some sort of continuity to your routine.
For example, if in your routine you have two tricks. In one trick you pull a rabbit from a hat. In another trick, you stick someone’s arm in a guillotine and proceed to pass the blade harmlessly through his or her arm.
To add continuity to your routine, schedule these two tricks to go one after the other. Then after pulling the live rabbit out of the hat, stick the rabbit’s head into the guillotine and proceed the trick from there.
